The MIC is updating cultural profiles from the 2004 Home and Personal Care Kit to assist aged care workers in providing culturally sensitive care and effective communication for their CALD clients. For updated versions click on these options. Older versions are available in the document below.

DISABILITY

Consultations on Disability Services for CALD communities

Consultations on understanding disability services with CALD communities were initiated to provide opportunities for services providers to make contact with the communities directly and to obtain feedback from the communities to begin a process to understand their needs.

RIDE CALD Disability Respite Project

Project conducted in 2008 by Yooralla RIDE to identify best practice models and tools for services to work with CALD communities and to strengthen and resource disability respite services in the Eastern Region.

DHS funded interpreters information - HACC

The Department of Human Services (DHS) currently fund the ONCALL Interpreters and Translators Agency for HACC funded agencies.

Palliative Care for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities

Resource for palliative care workers with culturally specific information about Cambodian, Chinese, Indian, Iranian, Sri Lankan and Vietnamese communities

PLANNED ACTIVITY GROUP

 

Planned Activity Group Cultural Model Pilot Evaluation Report

The report evaluated the planned activity group cultural model. The PAG Cultural Model aims to develop, implement and evaluate an alternative option for the planning and delivery of PAG for people from CALD backgrounds. The pilot agencies included East Burwood Centre, Centre for Philippine Concerns, City of Whitehorse and Cambodian Community Welfare Centre.

RESPITE

 

Meeting Needs: Perception on Respite

A summary document of key findings from the CALD Respite Information Project. This report outlines findings from consultations with respite service providers in the EMR, and with three target community groups: Chinese, Indian and Sri Lankan, in order to better understand the community perceptions of respite care.
