Aged Care Information

The MIC has developed an information sheet on aged care services. The sheet contains information on Home and Community Care Services, Aged Cae Assessment Teams, CommuntiyCare Packages and Residential Aged Care. The information sheets are in English, Chinese and Farsi.

The Ethno-Specific Group Directory in the Eastern Region is initiated by the Eastern Region HACC CALD Network and developed by the MIC. The Directory is organised by language spoken. Cultural Planning Framework & Resource Kit provides practical suggestions and tools for agencies to assist with planning for culturally relevant services. It also includes links to websites containing translated material and further information. Consultations on Disability Services for CALD communities

Consultations on understanding disability services with CALD communities were initiated to provide opportunities for services providers to make contact with the communities directly and to obtain feedback from the communities to begin a process to understand their needs.

Planned Activity Group Cultural Model Pilot Evaluation Report

The report evaluated the planned activity group cultural model. The PAG Cultural Model aims to develop, implement and evaluate an alternative option for the planning and delivery of PAG for people from CALD backgrounds. The pilot agencies included East Burwood Centre, Centre for Philippine Concerns, City of Whitehorse and Cambodian Community Welfare Centre.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) currently fund the ONCALL Interpreters and Translators Agency
